In the midst of all the glitter, garland, and tinsel, my favorite Christmas decorations I put out each year are our nativity sets. I love the sentiment behind them: a constant visual reminder in our homes to point us back to the meaning of Christmas, to baby Jesus in the manger. We’re sharing our favorite nativity sets early this year because they tend to sell out at the beginning of the season. Both child-friendly and collectible sets. Remember, nativity sets make such meaningful gifts for families and children, too! Scroll down to browse our favorites!
The little one pictured above is by Lo Home and is featured on our Women’s Gift Guide this year. It comes in the loveliest box (perfect for gifting and storage!) and you can get 15% off with code DSG15. The pink nativity set would be so pretty in a little girls’ room. Order soon if you want this one because Lo Home’s Christmas collection sells out quickly.
This Little People Nativity (pictured above!) is perfect for children. I think it makes a great baby or toddler Christmas gift. You don’t have to worry about little hands breaking this one – we get ours out every December and I love watching my children play with it. It’s also a great teaching tool as you read Luke 2.
This large, fabric set is also sweet for little hands. And fun to display!
My children also love our shatter-proof Fontanini set. I add a new piece every year and my girls are always excited to see who it will be. This is on our Couples and Families Guide because a starter set is a great gift for a family who wants to start their own collection.

Do you have a favorite nativity set? I would love to know!
I bought the little people set after having my eye on it for a few years. I am so excited to give it to my little girl. She’s thankfully still much more excited about Baby Jesus than Santa, and I hope to keep that up by giving her this!
