One of the best parts about going to camp is receiving mail from family members. Today Meg, my assistant who is former camper and camp counselor) put together three camp care packages as inspiration for your child this summer!
While putting together camp care packages for boys, there is one key thing to remember: Send things that they will be able to use at camp. Snacks are always a great option, but many camps don’t allow food to be sent.
The secret to girl care packages is sending items that they can do with their new camp friends. Friendship bracelets, finger knitting, and autograph pillowcases are a great ideas for the perfect care package!
Heading to the dollar section is usually as far as you need to go to put together the perfect care package! You can find great things like glow sticks, light up balloons, hair accessories, and so much more! Sending the perfect care package does not mean breaking the break, but rather finding items they can have fun with at camp!

Tip: If you are a parent of a first time camper, sending mail is so special. Having something to open will make your child’s day, no matter the size! On that note, not every camper will receive mail at camp so sending something extra on the last day for everyone can make a huge difference in another child’s camping experience. If your camp allows food, sending a pack of goldfish or another snack for everyone is plenty or sending a pack of glow sticks for everyone to have. Buying things that come multiple to a pack are perfect for this!
