The thrill of July 4th has gone, summer day camps have started winding down, and school is still more than a month away. Moms, we want to help you avoid the summer slump! We have three enriching activity ideas for you that will help you fill your days with easy learning and fun. From art to cooking to etiquette for girls — our hope is that you discover a new activity or two that you and your children will love!
The Kids’ Table
Get your kiddos cooking in the kitchen with The Kids’ Table! This is one of our favorite virtual cooking classes for children (they did a virtual cooking class for our Summer Book Club and it was a HUGE hit!), and it’s filled with hands-on fun and learning. Each ZOOM class is hands-on from start to finish, and children learn valuable skills along the way. We love their philosophy: That when children expand their taste buds, they learn that real food can be really good. The Kids’ Table offers one-hour classes and week-long, themed “summer camps” — and are great for children ages 4 and up!
Liza Snyder Art
What better way to spend hot summer days than painting, drawing, sculpting, and creating? Liza Snyder, a 30A based artist, offers a series of virtual art workshops that you can do in the comfort of your own home with children of all ages. From self portraits to clay, and even a Frida Kahlo-inspired class, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy! You could even pair one of these workshops with a trip to a local art museum — or create your own art museum at home with your new creations!
If you have or know a girl who’s 11 or older, then this is the course for you! Our Etiquette Essentials online course is the perfect summertime activity ahead of the new school year — we cover things like how to be a good friend, how to navigate social media, how to communicate with teachers, and so much more. And we just added in an all-new section: All about babysitting! This is a great mother-daughter activity, too. And today you can get 30% off with the promo code DSG30!
