Special Baptism Gift Ideas!

Give

If you’re like me you want to give a baptism gift that is special and memorable. So I’ve gathered eight meaningful gifts for children that you will love to give and that the child’s family will be so touched by when they receive. These ideas are perfect for dedications, too!

This illustrated Prayers for Children book from artist Fran Chibib is available at Hip Hip Hooray in Dallas (call to order; they ship nationwide). It’s precious pages are filled with poems and prayers but the most meaningful part is that the artist can calligraphy a personal message from you to the child. (For example: she can write “on the occasion of your baptism” with the date.)

This gorgeous book is available in a color and black and white illustrations ($160 and $260 respectively). See DoSayGive’s Instastories for more inside this beautiful book. It truly is a keepsake!

I love giving hand-painted crosses for Christening gifts. The floral cross on the left is from Camille’s Creations and can be customized with the name and date. The angel cross on the right is from artist Tricia Lowenfield. She also does a precious lamb cross.

How precious are these delicate cross bibs from The Orange Iris?  One would make a thoughtful gift for the child to wear at a celebration after the Christening. There are so many more cross bibs that can be personalized on Etsy.

Linen-covered mini Auraluz Bibles are such a meaningful gift. Available at Hip Hip Hooray for $34. Call to have shipped. (They will wrap it beautifully, too!).

Of course a children’s Bible is always a sweet baptism gift. My favorite children’s Bible is The Jesus Storybook Bible which comes in a beautiful keepsake edition. Or you could give a book of Bible stories. Here are some more books and Bibles that would make special gifts:

See this post for more children’s gift Bibles. Don’t forget to write an inscription!

This next gift will surely bring on tears! A baptism bonnet for a boy or girl that turns into a handkerchief for his/her wedding day. For girls, consider having the date of her baptism embroidered in blue for her future “something blue.” Also available for under $30 at Hip Hip Hooray. And don’t miss their baptism doll for girls that also converts to a wedding day hanky.

A cross bracelet or necklace is a simple gift but looks so sweet on baby when she is wearing her Christening gown. This one is from Dillard’s is reasonably priced but there are many on etsy, too. This bracelet can be personalized with the letter of the child’s name You could also check with your local jeweler.
