The Lilly Pulitzer Winter After Party Sale starts tomorrow! This sale occurs twice a year and it’s a great time to start thinking ahead for spring break trips and warm weather getaways. Today I am sharing how to strategically shop the sale, what I learned from the summer After Party Sale, and what to keep an eye out for when the sale opens.
What It Is:
Lilly Pulitzer does not put items on sale very often so twice a year they host their “After Party Sale” where you can find all of your favorite styles marked down. (You can read details from the Summer APS in this post). You can shop in stores starting today, but the online sale begins tomorrow morning, Monday, January 7th, at 8am Eastern. New sale items will be added to website tomorrow in addition to what’s on sale in store today.
This year, instead of releasing products in waves, they will post all of their items all at once, so as soon as it says sold out, it is gone! There will be markdowns in every category, including accessories. Items will go quickly online so make sure you shop quickly! Note: all sales during the After Party Sale are final.
How to Shop the Sale Strategically:
To ensure the best shopping experience, make sure you prepare ahead of time (i.e. today!) by familiarizing yourself with Lilly Pulitzer’s revamped website and following these three essential steps:
- Create an account online or make sure you are able to login to your account to speed up the check out process. Register here.
- Go ahead and enter your credit card and/or PayPal information because items will not be reserved until you have completed the payment process.
- The sale is all about getting in “The Virtual Line.” To ensure a good spot online, set your alarm a few minutes before 7AM CT tomorrow morning, head to the Lilly Pulitzer page and make sure NOT to refresh your browser. You will be placed in a virtual line and will be able to track your progress as your make it to the front of the line.
What I Learned from the Summer After Party Sale:
After shopping the Lilly Pulitzer sale myself in early September, I have a few extra tips that will help you secure those items you have had your eye on all season.
Shop smart! Before the sale starts, take a good look at your closet and think about what is missing, whether it’s a summer white dress or a swim suit, or maybe you need something for a beach destination wedding. Lilly prints are truly timeless so it this is one sale that should always be shopped! I still have Lilly dresses I wear from 10 years ago!
Shopping on the computer is the best experience! While you can shop the sale on your mobile devices and tablets, because of the enormous site traffic, shopping the sale on the computer proved to be much easier. Also make sure you don’t refresh your page, because you may lose your place in line!
Soak up that free shipping! I was so impressed with how quickly I received the items I ordered!
What to Look For:
The Winter After Party Sale always comes at a perfect time as we are starting to think about Spring vacations. Whether you are planning a trip to the beach with your family for Spring Break or have a girls trip planned somewhere warm, this sale is the perfect chance to refresh your spring wardrobe at a huge discount. This season, there are five major categories that you should be sure to shop.
Mother-Daughter Matching Outfits
It’s a great time to buy a mother-daughter matching outfit (or coordinating if you don’t like matchy-matchy!) so you don’t have to pay full-price come summer. Rumor has it that there will also be men’s and kid’s clothing and accessories included in the sale! Freshen up the whole family’s wardrobe during the APS and get ready for your next beach vacation.

T-Shirt/Everyday Dresses:
Lilly always has casual and t-shirt dresses in the sale. These dresses are my favorite because they are so easy to throw on for carpool or errands, but also fun to dress up with wedges for a night out on vacation. They are easy to pack for trips and machine-washable (bonus!). These run TTS and will most likely be under$50 during the sale!
Silk Tops
Lilly makes the most beautiful silk tops. I especially love the Elsa top that is typically included in a few colors and patterns. Fingers crossed! Make sure to keep an eye out for these as their usual price is upwards of $150.
Swimsuits and Coverups
Now is the time to refresh your swimsuit collection! I like to pick up one nice, well-made swimsuit before Spring hits and these Lilly suits are just that. Look for them to be marked down almost 50% during the APS, along with all of their adorable coverups! I’ve got my eye on the blue gingham swimsuit in the collage above!
Patterned Shorts
Y’all may remember this post where I shared why I loved the Lilly Pulitzer shorts I purchased before our trip to 30A last Spring. Make sure to check them out during the sale because they were definitely a wardrobe staple last season! They are easy to pair with one of Lilly’s white tops as well!
