After the past few months the word “homemaker” has a more beautiful connotation to me. Making and maintaining a home is not easy, but there is something quite satisfying about it. Cooking more meals, planting a backyard vegetable garden, providing in creative ways are not only gratifying, but they fulfill a slowness that many of our routines craved.

The resurgence of the art of homemaking is no doubt influencing clothing choices right now. Instead of street style, it’s house style. And house style is seeing a lot of day dresses. Nothing fancy. Just sensible and feminine. Dresses that are good for all things homemaking – or when one needs to hop on a Zoom call.
I’ve always loved breezy dresses during the summer. With four children for me it’s a matter of practicality. I spend less time matching tops and bottoms and anyone from Texas knows the summer heat does not favor fitted clothing. Cool is key.
Anthropologie always has the best selection of dresses and I especially love browsing their exclusive lines made for Anthropologie. This dress is from their collection. The white dress is sold out in some sizes but I love this patterned fabric and this striped version too. I found more favorites from Anthropologie below.
