It’s back to school week on DoSayGive. On Monday I shared some darling back to school themed outfits for children and three tips for kindergarten moms, yesterday I shared how to avoid overextending yourself by saying “no” to commitments that aren’t right for your season of life. Today I’m sharing some back to school outfit inspiration for you using pieces from Old Navy!

I have had a few requests to share inspiration for what to wear to back to school events and really just everyday mom outfits. (I think we are all tired of our summer wardrobes!) I went to Old Navy because they have some really cute things right now and it’s a great place to get a few new tops and jackets with to add into your current wardrobe (without spending a ton.)
All tops and jeans are up to 50% off right now, too! Tip: you can buy online and pick up in store so you don’t have to go searching for all these items.
When you want to throw something comfy on for morning carpool but want to be somewhat presentable in case you have to walk your child in because you are late;). Love this relaxed terry sweatshirt.
Fits true to size. This is a small.
Back to School Night
Pair this very J.Crew-looking cardigan with black pants and heels for back to school night. Also cute over a white blouse you have in your closet (leave the cardigan unbuttoned) with jeans and cute statement earrings.
Cardigan runs a bit big so may want to size down if you like a slimmer look. This is an extra small and the leopard one below is a small if that helps.
Easy Mom #OOTD
Another J.Crew type tee with cute ruffle sleeves. Comes in two colors and fits generously. This is a size small. Maybe I am crazy but I think it’d be so cute with the leopard sandals in the backdrop. I might have to order these because they didn’t have my size in store!
Affordable Luncheon Attire
Wearing a small.
Add a Jacket to Your Fave Sundress for a Cool Mom Look!
I wore this outfit in this post. The filter is making the field jacket look lighter than it is (and sorry for the dirty dressing room mirror!). The top photo is more accurate. But it is a great staple and would be so cute for a back to school night, meet the teacher, or just volunteering at school when it’s hot outside, but cold indoors! The field jacket comes in the popular green color that I know is a staple for a lot of fall wardrobes.I am wearing a small.
What You Will Probably Wear Everyday
Jeans, top, and a cardigan, am I right?! I absolutely love this cardigan I bought at Old Navy. It is the perfect late summer weight and fits true to size (wearing a small). And the gray color goes with so many things in my closet. Add whatever slides booties you have in your closet for an easy #ootd.
I wore this cardigan with these chino pants (which stretch so go down a size probably) last weekend on our trip to Granbury, Texas.
Classroom Party (Trying to be Creative Here!)
I have a few white blouses with ruffle sleeves and get SO much use out of them. This blouse is a little thin so you would need a camisole underneath. If you don’t mind that, I would totally recommend it. Such a great layering piece in your wardrobe. Fits true to size.
Btw, I love the fit of Old Navy rockstar jeans, but the regular length is just too short for me. I am 5’9 if that helps. I think they would be perfect for someone 5’7 or below.
An Easy Tee To Dress Up Or Down
I wore this tee on our weekend getaway last week (see Instagram for pic). They call it a “luxe” tee because it has a really great weight and feel. You don’t have to tie it up like I did but it gives you a casual weekend look for sure. This tee a little longer in the front and back so good for tucking, too. Wear with jeans, white jeans, cute cargo pants.
Fits true to size. Wearing a small. And comes in several colors.
Morning Coffee with a New Friend After Dropoff
Ask a new mom at school (or someone you want to get to know better) to coffee after drop off one morning. This white sweatshirt looks much more pricey than it is and is morning drop off/on the way to yoga outfit. Click to see the darling back! I am wearing a small.
Hope this helps!! Let me know if it inspired below. Be sure to pin this post to reference throughout the school year!
