Even as summer heats up, the sunshine and slower pace of our days practically begs us to spend more time outside. And if you’ve been following DoSayGive for any time at all, then you know I love a beautiful tablescape! There are few things that make a meal as special as intentionally setting a table with things you already own, things you love, or new things that have caught your eye. There’s something about setting the scene — with flowers (either foraged or artfully arranged at a store), candles, place cards (if you have small children, they can make them!), and pretty plates.
What better time to entertain family, friends, and neighbors than summer?! Scroll below to see some of my favorite summer entertaining favorites, and ways to mix and match for a bright and beautiful table!
These VIETRI bud vases are a favorite of mine, and for good reason. Not only is VIETRI an heirloom brand (all pieces are hand-crafted by artisans in Italy!), but their pieces are so special — and practical enough for everyday use! They’re a perfect compliment to taller arrangements, too. Just add a few of your favorite stems (if you live near a Trader Joe’s, they are one of my favorite spots for flowers at a great price), and you’re set! The beautiful lemon salad plates and pasta dish (pictured below!) are also by VIETRI. I also wanted to tell y’all about the dinner napkins I used for this table. They are from VIETRI’s paper-soft line and are disposable but definitely don’t look like it!
I’m loving incorporating color these days, too. Through beautiful tablecloths, fun plates, or these pretty wine glasses — which you’ve likely seen on our gift guides! You can bring in color in so many ways, and the great news these days is that not everything has to match. Perfectly imperfect is the name of the game, and it adds a curated look, too. For added texture, I mixed the rainbow wine with Honey and Hank’s new woven glasses. The placemats on this table are also from Honey and Hank’s new woven collection!
