As the school year winds down, it’s time to start thinking about end-of-the-year gifts for the teachers who have poured their hearts into our children all year long. Gifts from the whole class are so special, but take a bit of time to coordinate. So to help out, we rounded up four of our favorite class gift ideas for the special teacher in your life! These are simple, thoughtful, and so cute — and teachers would love to receive any of them. They are also perfect for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8th-12th)!
1. Gift Card Recipe Box!
We filled this darling tin recipe box with gift cards (just place them in the spaces where recipe cards would normally go!), and then wrote our very own “recipe” for what makes a teacher great. This can be personalized for each teacher! A recipe box is something they can use at home and keep forever — just have each family in the class provide a gift card of their choosing (or designate one mom to gather the gift cards), add them to the tin, and you’re all set.
2. Gift Card Tree
Gift card trees have long been a popular gift item for teachers, and a few years ago we created an elevated version using mini envelopes or place cards and clothespins, a beautiful plant, and a planter that looks lovely on a teacher’s desk. It has been such a popular idea with DoSayGive readers all over the country! We created a new version this year using colorful envelopes and a terra cotta planter this year, and love how it turned out! Teachers so appreciate words of affirmation, too — written adjectives that describe your child’s teacher on the outside of the envelopes makes this fun gift personal and sentimental! Tip: Use a sturdier plant to ensure the clothespins don’t weigh down the branches. Target, Walmart, and Ikea are great spots for inexpensive planters — and many plants come in cute planters that are ready to gift (just add a cute ribbon!).
3. Pool Ready Bogg Bag!
If you think students are the only ones with summer on their minds, think again! A fun, summer-themed gift bag is such a great gift to get teachers in a vacation state of mind — and our go-to for this is the popular Bogg Bag! It’s perfect for the beach or the pool, and you can fill it with cute beach towels, sunscreen, drink tumblers, and more summer essentials. Maybe a cute beach-ready clutch, fun earrings, nail polish, or a new book, too! To read more about what we used to fill this darling gift bag, read here!
4. Budget-Friendly Gift Basket
This DIY teacher gift basket is one of the most popular posts on DoSayGive every year! And for good reason, too — it’s filled with a mix of summer-ready items (check the Target dollar aisle!), which gives this fun gift basket a personalized feel. If she has a favorite sparkling water flavor, add a can or two. If she loves a certain type of candy, add it in there! Mix things up with budget-friendly beach towels (Target is a great spot for these!), magazines, lip balm, and even a pair of flip flops, and you’ve got a cute gift from the whole class under $50.
