Details on the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale!

The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale starts in store this weekend and online on Monday! The sale only happens twice a year and it’s the perfect time for Lilly lovers to grab popular items at major discounts. I wanted to give y’all a head start so today I am sharing everything you need to know about the sale, including how I strategically shop the online sale, what I’ve learned from the past sales, what to buy! I think one of the best kept secret’s in the sale is the tween and teen clothes you can score – think church clothes, pa. Keep reading to find out

What It Is:

Lilly Pulitzer does not put items on sale very often so twice a year they host their “After Party Sale” where you can find all of your favorite styles marked down.  You can shop in stores starting today, but the online sale begins Monday morning, September 9, at 8am Eastern. New sale items will be added to website in addition to what’s on sale in store today.

They will be adding new items to the sale throughout the week so be sure to check back and follow along on Instagram where we will be sharing updates in Instagram stories! There will be markdowns in every category, including accessories. Items will go quickly online so make sure you shop quickly! Note: all sales during the After Party Sale are final.

How to Shop the Sale Strategically:

To ensure the best shopping experience, make sure you prepare ahead of time (i.e. today!) by familiarizing yourself with Lilly Pulitzer’s revamped website and following these three essential steps:

1. Create an account online or make sure you are able to login to your account to speed up the check out process. Register here.
2. Go ahead and enter your credit card and/or PayPal information because items will not be reserved until you have completed the payment process.
3. The sale is all about getting in “The Virtual Line.” To ensure a good spot online, set your alarm a few minutes before 7AM CT tomorrow morning, head to the Lilly Pulitzer page and make sure NOT to refresh your browser. You will be placed in a virtual line and will be able to track your progress as your make it to the front of the line.

After shopping the sale a few times myself, I’ve learned a few lessons that may be helpful for y’all too!

Shop smart! Before the sale starts, take a good look at your closet and think about what is missing. Lilly prints are truly timeless but I still try to stick to cuts and styles that I know I will wear for years! I still have Lilly dresses I wear from 10 years ago!

Shopping on the computer is the best experience! While you can shop the sale on your mobile devices and tablets, because of the enormous site traffic, shopping the sale on the computer proved to be much easier. Also make sure you don’t refresh your page, because you may lose your place in line!

Soak up that free shipping! I was so impressed with how quickly I received the items I ordered!

What to Look For:

The sale this year is coming at a perfect time since we’ve still got quite a bit more time of warm weather ahead of us but can also prep for cooler fall weather. Here are a few things to definitely be on the lookout for during the sale.

Shoes:

I love Lilly’s shoe selection but they are usually quite pricy! I am eyeing the shoe section to hopefully grab a pair while they are discounted.

Mother-Daughter Matching Outfits:

The sale is a great time to buy matching (or coordinating) mother-daughter outfits. I love getting Lilly shorts for me and matching shift dresses for my girls. It doesn’t look too matchy-matchy but cute and coordinating! More inspiration on mother-daughter outfits here.

Tween/Young Teens:

Don’t forget girls’ sizing goes up to 16! And adult sizes start at XXS which is perfect for tall middle schoolers! Like this dress or this dress that starts at size 0.

Activewear:

Lilly activewear is perfect for fall! I love the popovers and leggings. Fingers crossed they will be included in the sale. I think the leggings would be so fun for tweens too.

Shift Dresses:

The Lilly Pulitzer shift dresses are a staple in the Lilly Pulitzer collection. They are so easy to throw on for a day of errands or dress up with some wedges for a night out. With so many colors and patterns, they can be worn all year round. Take advantage of the sale to stock up on both spring and summer patterns as well as solids that can be worn into the fall.

Shift dresses are available in girls’ sizes as well. These dresses are great investments because they can be worn for years and passed down to sisters or cousins.

Silk Tops

Lilly makes the most beautiful silk tops. I especially love the Elsa top that is typically included in a few colors and patterns. Make sure to keep an eye out for these as their usual price is upwards of $150. These are perfect for fall!

Shorts and Short Sets

I have an entire blog post all about why I love Lilly shorts. Even though summer is winding down (although the warm weather may be around for a while…), one of the reasons I love Lilly shorts is that they last for years.
