Confession: I have not worked out, other than my occasional walking around the neighborhood, in over three years. What happened? Well, life, I guess.
With three children, one with more appointments than most, and now me as a blogger (which I try to do in the mornings before the girls wake up), I just have not been able to get on a “regular” workout schedule since before my third child was born.
I do like to wear the clothes, though…
Now, in all honesty I have never been a workout queen. I used to do the Barre Method and loved it, but I am also of the belief that having an active lifestyle is sufficient. I kind of like to do what Parisians do: walk, take the stairs, ride bikes with the children, eat wholesome, real foods, etc..
But lately I have been feeling kind of “blah,” probably because as my children have gotten to be school age, I have been in the car more (and pushing the stroller less!). So I reached out to Andrea over at the Loubies and Lulu blog for some tips for some things I can do at home.
Andrea is currently doing a summer series with The Move Project and this week I joined her to try out some easy exercises you can do anywhere (at home or a hotel, perhaps!). If you have children home from school this summer, and can’t make your regular workouts, you might enjoy these, too!
Before I get into the moves, I wanted to tell y’all about a FUN event this Thursday, June 25th at Athleta Preston Oaks on Preston/Royal here in Dallas. They are hosting Andrea and myself and our blog readers (that’s you!) from 7- 9 pm with wine, hor d’ouevres, giveaways for Athleta gift cards, and free two-week class passes to the new Core Power Yoga on Preston/Forest. The cost is FREE!
If you have never worn Athleta, it is amazing! They not only have stylish activwear, but swimwear, and cute sun dresses, too! (Even better, their return policy is amazing – you can wear it, and then return it if you aren’t fully satisfied!).
I am obsessed with my new floral hypersonic floral capri pants – they fit so well, I think because they have compression fabric. And my white tank also has the same wicking material and has some nice “support” if you know what I mean. I can feel comfortable wearing white and not feeling like it’s see through. The pretty wrap is Athleta, too – perfect to cover up for post-gym errands!
Andrea and I spent about three hours at the store the other day, trying just about everything on, so we’d love to help you find something cute for your workout, whatever that may be. (Or just stop in and say hi and enter the raffle!). So if you are in Dallas, get a group of friends together for a girls’ dinner and stop by before you go! I would love to meet y’all!
You can register here.
Now for the workout…I am vowing to do this home workout three times a week this summer. Please hold me to it and ask me about it!!
Here’s a little snippet of some things Andrea showed me…(it’s okay, you can totally laugh at me!).
To see the full workout with step -by -step instructions by Andrea, head over to Loubies and LuLu. Let me know if you try it this summer!
