I get asked all the time about my favorite local gift ideas in Dallas. Even if you’re not in The Big D some of these hidden gems might spark a gift idea in your town. Good news, though, several of these can be shipped nationwide!
Marianne’s “Cooking with Friends” Class
Her classes are booked months in advance so plan ahead if you want to give a gift certificate for a “Cooking with Friends” class taught by food blogger, Marianne Lynne. The perfect gift for someone who loves – or wants to love – to cook easy, gourmet meals. Classes take place in Marianne’s University Park home and for 4-7 of the recipient’s closest friends. Price is $100 and wine is included! Such a fun idea for a girls night out, too, as you learn Marianne’s insider shopping tips, professional techniques, and a list of her favorite kitchen items from spices to pans to napkins!
The Meat Shop
This new establishment on Lovers Lane has taken a new twist on a butcher’s shop. They sell and serve Texas-raised Wagyu Beef, pork, all-natural chicken, and a variety of other smoked meats. A gift certificate paired with one of their signatures carving boards would perfect for the griller with discerning taste. But they also have a wonderful sandwich and side menu, if you wanted to give a gift card to someone who works in the area. (Perfect idea for a male teacher gift!). Good news: they ship nationwide!
JOY Macarons
These unique Macarons are a Dallas staple! With so many flavors, you truly cannot go wrong. These would make a great gift for a house guest or hostess gift. Their modern gift boxes and ice cream sandwiches can be delivered via UberEats, Favor, and Doordash and a fun way to say Happy Birthday to a co-worker or spouse! And remember on special occasions like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, Joy Macarons offer a gorgeous gift box with maracons and fresh flowers!
Scardello
Located on Oaklawn Avenue, Scardello has a highly curated selection of artisan cheeses that can be put together in a lovely gift box for a client gift. Hard-to-shop for dads might love a subscription to their cheese club which delivers three cheeses per month. Or if you are looking for a unique experience gift Scardello also offer a variety of tasting classes like “Wines of Burgundy and Cheeses of France” and “Beer and Wine Smackdown.” Sign me up!
Fig and Goat Cheese Boards
File this under: “Why didn’t I think of this?” Seasonal charcuterie boards starting at $64 that are perfect gift to send to a client to your office co-workers or to your friends who are hosting your family for a weekend at the lake. Delivery available in Dallas!
Dr. Delphinium Floral Design Classes
Dr. Delphinium not only delivers gorgeous floral arrangements but fabulous gift baskets for everyone from new moms to clients you need to wow. But probably my favorite gift idea from them is a gift certificate for one of their amazing floral design classes. Their Peonies + Picnic class would be such a lovely Mother’s Day gift to take with your mom!
Miracle Milkookies
This Dallas-based company specializes in making scrumptious and effective lactation cookies (i.e. they are made with all natural ingredients that help boost a mother’s milk supply). The cookies are available for delivery in Dallas on Tuesdays and pickup at The Tot on Lovers Lane on Thursdays. These make a great gift for new moms and what better way the bless her than having them delivered to her doorstep?! Order frozen or pre-baked.
