Living in Texas, whether you’re originally from here or not, you come to love and embrace one particular fashion element: cowboy boots! They’re practically a staple here in the cooler months, making frequent appearances on the weekends and even some special events. Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite picks for men, women, and children — very on trend and at all price points, too! File this post away for custom boot sources as well!
As we begin thinking about the holidays and gift ideas, one thing to keep in mind is that cowboy boots might make for a wonderful (and very special) Christmas present for children or adults. Some can be modern heirlooms and something that can be passed down!
First, though, let’s get to the cute children’s boots!
For Toddlers
There’s nothing cuter than toddlers and preschoolers in cowboy boots! In Texas you will see lots of smocked dresses paired with cowboy boots in the fall. And wouldn’t little, red cowboy boots would be so darling under the Christmas tree?
For Children
For school costume day, pumpkin patches, and everything in between, cowgirl boots have been put to good use through four girls in our family. This time of year you can find cowgirl boots at places like Target!
For Women
Lately I’ve been updating my summer dresses with boots and a belt. A splurge “dream” gift would one day be to have a pair of Miron Crosby boots but I’m loving these Lucchese I found on Amazon. I’m also obsessing over these Ranch Boots I found at Only on the Avenue. Also check out places like DSW and Pinto Ranch.
For Men
Dressy, casual and everything in between, there are so many options for men’s cowboy boots. Places like Cavender’s, Ariat and Pinto Ranch have boots off the rack in all price points. For custom boots, some Texas institutions include Leddy’s (and several other places near the Ft. Worth Stockyards), Miron Crosby, and Roma’s in Dallas. My husband’s are custom for Lucchese.

Love this post! And it’s perfect timing because my son realized this morning that his boots are too small. I grew up on a ranch east of Austin but never felt like cowboy boots looked right on me. The booties from Tecovas are a good hybrid of cowgirl and traditional (plus, the leather smell is so nice!); I’m been wearing them with long dresses this fall. But there is nothing more adorable than a toddler in cowboy boots!
