august: fabulous leather goods that give back

Give

marais tote, dallas fashion blogger, travel tote, leather, august califronia, fold over clutchI love telling my readers about companies that give back to their surrounding communities in some form or fashion. Based out of Los Angeles, august does just that, all while designing and producing absolutely gorgeous leather goods.

More and more Los Angeles seems to be becoming the gravitational center of really fabulous design and august is definitely part of that movement. Started by a couple who spent a year traveling the world, this eclectic line of high-end leather clutches and bags is a good one to file away for yourself or someone you love.

Not only are their totes, clutches, and wallets beautiful, but with every bag sold august donates a backpack to an underprivileged youth in Los Angeles through an organization called Operation School Bell.

When I first saw this Ravello- Koi clutch in person I was taken aback by it’s beauty. The Ravello will make any LBD pop with intrigue and splendor and is definitely a conversation starter at cocktail parties. Everyone will be asking: where did you get that clutch?

Foldover clutches are so popular right now and I love that this one is so unique. You can also use it to store essentials, including an iPad.

If you love this Koi pattern, it also comes in a wallet and a really reasonably-priced smaller clutch that would make a lovely gift this holiday season.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably sen me carrying my new Marais tote.

No doubt the Marais tote was designed for the woman who loves the understated; someone who wants a fine leather bag but perhaps without any designer logos.

If you are trying to achieve that effortless, chic look that Parisienne women seem to capture so easily, the Marais bag is the answer. (It was aptly named after the Marias district in Paris!). Here are just some of the colors you can choose from:

Better yet, it folds completely flat for a great travel bag!

Now for the wallet that has gotten me so much more organized!

Before the Chelsea clutch, I think I was using a wallet that was too small because I never could find what I was looking for! I would often just toss my credit card in my purse because my wallet was a pain to unzip (which drove my husband crazy!).

chelsea, dallas fashion blogger,

The Chelsea is such an great example of the intermixing of thoughtful design and style. Pockets for everything and card slots that you can actually see! And there’s even a spot for my large iPhone 6 so I can grab the Chelsea out of my tote and use as a clutch for dinner. So easy!

august carries so many more fabulous things including their exquisite Cotswold travel bag (a wow gift for sure!) and their modern men’s leather bifolds. See them all here.

Thank you to august for patterning on this post!
