I don’t know about you but I am so looking forward to the change of pace that comes with summer. After a busy school year I want my children to have plenty of unstructured play and family time. I try to avoid over-scheduling them with day camps because I want their summer memories to be about building forts, biking to the neighborhood pool, and getting creative with a lemonade stand sign. (And I need a break from the early morning hustle!). Today I am excited to partner with Walmart’s We Dress America campaign to share a line of play clothes that encourages children to stay – and look – like the precious children they are.
This post is sponsored by Walmart. Thanks for supporting the brands I love.
Each summer I buy several cotton play dresses for my girls. They not only help them stay cool in Dallas’ oppressive heat and humidity, but they make getting dressed each morning so simple and easy for them. (And I don’t have to worry about them wearing mismatched clothes!)
I love that Walmart’s Wonder Nation line is designed for active children whose parents want them to stay children as long as possible. That’s hard to find these days, especially at affordable prices. My girls can wear dresses like these watermelon cotton dresses or these floral and striped dresses to play in or wear as coverups. At under $10 for TWO dresses I don’t care if they get paint or mud or any other sign of summer on them. After all, summer is for play and play is the “work of childhood.”
I also think they look adorable with these jelly shoes. I have so many fun summer memories in my jelly shoes, don’t you?? Note: these run big.
A few more cute things from Wonder Nation at Walmart: all my older girls have the darling dress in this post, my tween would love these crochet shorts and how cute are these swim trunks and these dino trunks for boys?
As for me, I have been living in these white jeans and slip-on shoes lately and will continue to this summer. As I said in this recent Walmart Fashion post these are the best jeans I’ve ever bought at this price point. They don’t get all stretched out at the end of the day and are nice enough for dinner. I actually prefer more than my expensive white jeans!
And this Time & Tru striped boat neck top fits nicely into the Spring Capsule Wardrobe I posted yesterday. Looks cute with this adorable Time & Tru Beach Tote, too, which would make a cute Mother’s Day Gift filled with magazines, sunscreens, and other fun summer goodies!
So how many days until summer again???
