It is such a treat today to partner with Nordstrom to share my favorite nude pumps. If you’ve got some Christmas money to spend, I am making the case why a pair of nice neutral pumps is something that every classic wardrobe needs and sharing my favorite designer and designer lookalikes. Plus, a pink sweater that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day!

When Nordstrom tapped me to explore their amazing selection of designer goods (yes, please!) I immediately steered myself to the shoe department. I’ve been needing a new pair of neutral pumps (I wore my old ones so much) so thought I would look at the designer options at Nordstrom. After all, with good maintenance a good pair of shoes can last for years. And neutral pumps never go of style. I wear mine with everything from dresses to jeans. It’s amazing how a pair of nude pumps can turn a daytime look instantly into a date night outfit.
For this post I researched all the designer pumps available in a nude color and decided on the super popular Pigalles Pointy Toe pumps in nude patent leather. (Keep scrolling for budget-friendly lookalikes!)
I learned that the Pigalles pump was Christian Louboutin’s first classic shoe style he ever designed. (He’s known for his avant garde style like these amazing – and lookalike Cruella Deville – pumps.)
At first I thought I wanted leather pumps, but the helpful sales lady at Nordstrom told me that leather gets scuffed easily. She recommended that if I was going to splurge for some designer shoes, I should get patent leather that will last longer. I had to get over the voice in my head saying patent leather is only for warmer months. As with most things with fashion these days, just about anything goes!
Side note: I also considered these very similar Jimmy Choo pumps. But I couldn’t resist the Louboutins. I don’t know about you but if I am going to splurge on some designer shoes I am going to go for the ones with the signature red heels!
On the subject of red, wouldn’t these – or any Louboutin pumps – be an amazing Valentine’s Day gift from your husband? Sometimes you have to give him a little (or big!) hint so feel free to forward this post. (Or sign him for DoSayGive’s Newsletter for Husbands which goes out four times a year before major holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day!).
A few tips about buying Louboutins:
- Go up at least a half size. I went up a full size. Some complain that Louboutins are uncomfortable, but part of the problem might be the sizing isn’t right.
- Consider the right heel height for you. They come in 85mm, 100mm, and 120 mm. I chose the middle height because I am tall but also because they be worn daytime and nighttime. Again, if I am going to splurge on a shoe, it needs to be verstaile. Many are drawn to the 120mm stiletto but, again, you have to consider the comfort factor!
- Add a shoe pad to cushion the ball of your foot. You can find at any drug store.
- Take them to a good cobbler for maintenance. I have friends who take their brand new Louboutins to a cobbler to stretch out the toe and they said it makes such a difference. Regardless, taking your nice shoes to be resoled and buffed every so often can add years to the life of your shoes. In Dallas I recommend Deno’s in Highland Park Village.
Since everyone’s feet (and budget) are different I gathered up my favorite neutral pumps from Nordstrom below – designer and designer lookalikes. You can order a few and try on for size in the comfort of your own home. Remember, Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns.
Which ones do you love? Tell me below. And thanks so much to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! All outfits are styled by me and opinions are my own.
