Special Family Gifts with Family Treedition!

I love giving gifts full of meaning and ones that will be enjoyed for years to come. Today I am sharing some of the neat gifts on DoSayGive’s Holiday Gift from Family Treedition. Plus, today’s “12 Days of DoSayGive” giveaway is from Swoozie’s! Eight winners today!

I love giving my readers ideas for special traditions to start with their families. But even more I love giving gifts that become traditions in another family. This year, instead of giving my best friend’s children each their own gift this year, I sent her family a set of these beautiful beautiful Jesse Tree ornaments from Family Treedition.

If you are unfamiliar with the Jesse Tree calendar, it takes you through 25 Biblical events starting at Creation (December 1st) and ending with the Birth of Christ (December 25th). It’s based on Isaiah 11 that says that a Savior will come from the “root of Jesse.”

Essentially, it’s Jesus’ family tree and it’s been a great way for our children to see that the people and stories in the Old Testament were not at all random but, in fact, all part of God’s glorious redemptive plan, pointing toward the Savior that was born on Christmas Day.

We use ornaments that we made a few years ago but Family Treedition has two sets of Jesse Tree ornaments that you can purchase: the set of hand-stitched heirloom felt ornaments ($125) made in Kyrgyzstan and the set of paper ornaments ($39.99). Both sets come with Family Treedition’s Jesse Tree Advent devotional.

We use a small Christmas tree to hang our ornaments, but you could use branches in a vase or a faux potted tree to hang these ornaments. (Family Treedition has some neat trees, too!)

Another special “family” gift from Family Treedition is their Everything Envelope. Every month the family receives a burlap envelope with a different set of seasonal ornaments (pumpkins for Halloween, patriotic for July, hearts for February). Each ornament has a little devotion or Bible verse that coincides beautifully with the season.

This would be such a special gift from grandparents or an aunt and uncle. It’s truly a gift that will be enjoyed all year. And I imagine it’s quite exciting when the mailman brings a new Everything Envelope!

Other sweet and meaningful gifts from Family Treedition include the children’s Christmas placemat ($15) and Happy Birthday Jesus plate ($20) that I’ve featured in my newsletter before. The placemat has John 2 on the back – a great way for children to memorize the story of Jesus’ birth.

The “Asleep of the Hay” baby Jesus ($8) is in my Children’s Stocking Stuffers gift guide. The owner of Family Treedition said she puts this in the bottom of her children’s stockings – a reminder that He is the true gift. The “Away in the Manger” baby Jesus ($10) comes with this little box.

I hope you all enjoyed these special gift ideas. Thank you to Family Treedition for sponsoring this post!
