August is here! And that means back to school shopping is on every mom’s brain. I’m partnering with Nordstrom to show you some of the cute things I bought my girls. Plus, a helpful list of all the back to school essentials you can shop stress-free at Nordstrom. Many are on sale as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
Last weekend I did my annual summer closet cleanse. I took out all my girls’ clothes that were too small or looked a little tired. Then I went through our storage boxes to see what fall clothes I could pull out (we have three girls so there is a lot of passing down!). I do this before school starts so I know what things to buy for them for the upcoming school year as far as clothes, socks, and shoes.
The fact that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coincides with back to school shopping is just a gift to moms. I was able to get several cute fall essentials for our entire family on sale.
Yes, it’s hard to think about cooler temperatures when it’s 100 degrees outside, but I know I will be so glad I bought these Hudson jeans (reg. $49 but on sale for $29.90) for my oldest come October! (Smaller sizes click here). If you have a little girl, you know that metallic flats are a must-have and these are on sale for $29.90 (but will be $44.95 after the sale!).
My oldest was so excited I let her get this cute striped flowy top (almost sold out but another high-low top here although not on sale). She is entering that stage where she wants to dress a bit trendier, so I appreciate that Nordstrom offers girls’ clothing that falls into that category but is still tasteful (i.e. mom approved!).
I also appreciate that the quality of Nordstrom’s clothing is a step above some of the other major brands out there. Did I mention we pass down a lot of clothes? Durable clothes are of more value to me in the long run!
On that note, Tea Collection play dresses are a fall essential in our house – perfect for play and for pre-school. This floral print dress will be cute with leggings when it’s cooler!
I also bought white T-strap white Keds for my three year old – with frilly socks, of course! I put all my girls in these classic tennis shoes when they were that age because it means they can put on their own shoes in the morning!
As I mentioned in my back to school post last week, I usually buy two shoe sizes online and send back what doesn’t fit. Nordstrom has free shipping and free easy returns so why not save yourself a stressful trip to the store? If your child wears a uniform to school, Keds’ Saddle Oxford are on sale!
