My mom used to do freshly baked homemade cookies every first day after school. I would LOVE to do the breakfast with the neighbors at our bus stop – may try and enact that this year even though it’s our first. And I never have a chalkboard or sign (plus my son isn’t a huge fan of overly posed pictures) but loved that one of your readers said she uses editing software to add facts about her child – have to do that! Definitely will do a special back-to-school meal and maybe ice cream the night before school! So bittersweet but these traditions help ease the pain.
